our existing Operations team.
The candidate will ideally have some experience in this or similar technical roles such as Joinery or Timber Engineering/Laminating, however this is not essential.
A Side Loader operating certificate will also be beneficial.
They will have a thorough approach, an eye for detail and be able to demonstrate a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.

EXTERNAL SALES EXECUTIVE – TIMBER DIVISION (REGION-WEST MIDLANDS AREA)
Reporting to: The Timber Director/Joint Deputy Managing Director
The Job:
The External Sales Executive will be responsible for developing profitable customer relationships, achieving agreed sales turnover and gross profit budgets, and identifying new business opportunities. Working closely with the Internal Sales team, they will promote the Company’s products and services while delivering excellent customer service and sustainable, profitable growth.
Main Duties:
· To ‘buddy up’ with a member of the Internal Sales Team to provide information on customer orders, pricing etc.
· To be competent in the use of the Company computer systems.
· To actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking and social media.
· To organise meetings with potential customers to understand their requirements.
· To prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services when required.
· To create sales and financial reports for presentation to the Timber Director.
· To represent the Company at conferences, exhibitions or sales events when requested to do so.
· To negotiate sales deals effectively and profitably.
· To deal with customer complaints
· To gather feedback from customers and other industry representatives to share with the sales team.
· To identify opportunities to increase margin through value-added products and product mix.
· To monitor competitor activity and market trends and report opportunities and threats.
· To produce regular sales forecasts.
· To ensure customer credit limits and payment terms are adhered to in conjunction with the Credit Control team.
· To maintain an effective programme of customer visits and account reviews.
· To ensure all customer visits, opportunities and quotations are recorded accurately within the CRM system.
· To attend any training sessions, “toolbox talks” or other company training given.
The Person:
· Will have good basic IT skills, including previous experience with Microsoft Office applications.
· Will be able to demonstrate previous experience within a sales executive role or similar position.
· Will have excellent verbal communication skills.
· Will have a good understanding of sales and marketing techniques.
· Will be an excellent negotiator.
· Will be self-motivated and have a results-driven approach to work.
· Will be able to deliver high-quality, professional sales presentations when required.
· Will have good problem-solving skills and be able to work on their own initiative.
· Will be able to display diplomacy and sensitivity when required.

The Internal Sales Executive will be responsible for providing customers with product specifications, prices, delivery costs and times and expected Mill running times. They will also provide Head Office support for External Sales Executives.
The Internal Sales Executive will ensure that all goods, services and documentation are dealt with efficiently; that they are of the right quality and quantity, and that they are to the satisfaction of the Customer and Company.
Main Duties:
· To make outgoing Sales telephone calls.
· To ‘buddy up’ with a member of the External Sales Team to provide information on pricing, stock levels, service levels etc.
· To be competent in the use of the Company computer systems.
· To take incoming telephone calls to the Sales office, for example customer queries and orders.
· To perform general administrative duties.
· To attend any training sessions, “toolbox talks” or other company training given.
· To liaise with other departments to obtain transport and production information for customers.
· To grow relationships with existing and new customers.
· To show a willingness to be part of a team in a busy Sales office environment.
The Person:
· Will have good basic IT skills.
· Will have good problem-solving skills and be able to work on their own initiative.
· Will be able to display diplomacy and sensitivity when required.
